What I am looking forward to: Learning about the wonderful Belizean culture, natural world, and working with the Belizean school children. I am also excited to bring everything I have learned back to Western NC and correlating Belizean ecology and culture to the NC curriculum.

What I am looking forward to: I am looking forward to everything! I am especially looking forward to the rainforest excursions, snorkeling and staying at the South Water Caye, and learning more about the Belizean culture and schools. I cannot wait to share this experience with my students and staff.

What I am looking forward to: Everything! Specifically, learning about Belize and its wildlife and how it connects to NC, being completely immersed in Belize’s ecosystems and culture, and trying new things.

What I am looking forward to: I can’t wait to meet and hang out with some new teacher friends from NC and Belize! I’m also excited to get to explore new areas of Belize, on foot, by boat, and under water. Meeting some Belizean students, trying new foods, and turning off the phone are also going to be super experiences for me!

What I am looking forward to: I want to learn about the rainforest so I can create lessons for my students. I really want to see a variety of animals. I would like to learn more about the people who live in Belize.

What I am looking forward to: Seeing Nathan, our guide and the beautiful places in Belize. I look forward to snorkeling on the reef, finding Red-Eyed Tree Frogs, and visiting Monkey River Village where we have worked for many years. I cannot wait to share this with such an outstanding group!

Nathan Forbes

Nathan has been guiding the Museum’s annual Tropical Ecology Institute for more than 14 years. He came to a Museum workshop (Summer Field Institute) in June 2002.
